Doggie Treats

Print Friendly and PDF

This is a fun recipe for your non-human kids :)

Here's what you'll need:

1 1/2 cups dry oatmeal, ground up
1 large ripe banana
1/2 cup peanut butter
optional: 1 tbs bacon grease

Let's get started!

preheat oven to 350 degrees

If using bacon grease in your recipe, cook some bacon and reserve 1 tbs of grease

Grind up your 1 1/2 c uncooked oats. You can use a food processor or blender, or maybe just put them in a ziplock bag and smash them with a meat tenderizer/hammer.

In a medium bowl, smash up your large banana with a fork so it is a mushy consistency.

Add in 1/2 c peanut butter and mix until combined

Add in ground oats and combine until mixture pulls together

If desired add 1 tbs of bacon grease

roll out the mixture with rolling pin. If you don't have a rolling pin you can smash it down with your hands to desired thickness. We used wax paper to keep it from sticking to the counter.

Cut out desired shape for the treats. If you don't have cookie cutters you can just use a knife and cut little squares or circles.

place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes
(just until the edges turn slightly brown)

How to clean your pans!

Print Friendly and PDF

2 c vinegar
1/4 c baking soda
copper scrubbers

1. Pour vinegar onto pan
(I put my pan on the cooktop and turned the heating elements on high!)
2. Sprinkle the baking soda on top of the vinegar
(oohh bubbles!)
let sit about 10 min, then turn heat off

Then start scrubbing!
use caution as your pan is probably hot!

I used these because I think they work the best :)
they have them at the dollar store!

Happy Scrubbing!
